new colour of the pythoncobra

Why should I choose a Python ahead of any other Cobra replica?

What might influence your decision is the Python's combination of quality engineering, top class finish, light weight, exciting performance and generous cockpit space. Thanks to our lightweight yet extremely stiff chassis and a GRP bodyshell incorporating wide use of polyurethane foam sandwich material, the Python is amongst the lightest Cobras on the market - so performance will be exceptional.

You'd perhaps not notice it at a glance but our bodyshell is 2" longer than other Cobras, the extra length being in the doors - and thus also in the cockpit. We've kept the Python's central transmission tunnel as narrow as possible between driver and passenger and the result is an unusually comfortable seating area with plenty of room for big people and those over 6ft tall.

Then there's the quality of our car's bodywork moulding, which is first class with all panels displaying precise shut lines. We're using the same techniques as we did with the RV Nemesis, and if you've seen one of those you'll know what we mean. Last but not least, the fact that we use the BMW 5-series (the type E34 sold in the UK between mid-1988 and early 1996) as our main donor car could influence your decision. It's a superbly engineered, prestige, executive express and makes a great deal of sense compared to a Jaguar XJ6/12 or Ford's Sierra and Granada.

Can you explain exactly why the chassis is so strong and yet so light?

Our chassis design is a combination of ladder frame and fully triangulated backbone, so it's extremely stiff and strong. Bracing has been placed wherever necessary and, because the main tubes don't run parallel to each other, the result is minimum distortion as the chassis comes under load - because all the tubes are pulling against each other. Also, because the layout is so comprehensive, we have been able to use lighter gauge tube to save weight.
